Review by Murray Davis
I was surprised, which I shouldn't have been, how great Bob's performance
was. He is not legendary for no reason and he reminded most people in
attendance that. The biggest difference, there was no electric guitars but
plugged in acoustics which created a firestorm of rhythm, is probably the
best way to express the sound in words.
He sang mostly from his new album, which I understand that is what he
wants to play, but still would have enjoyed hearing more of his classics.
Watchtower was a highlight for me, Nervous Breakdown cover was awesome.
His recent expression of his genius seems to be for me is his restless
search to creating music that isn't redundant even if the recent setlists
are.
Many new arrangements of all the songs. Overall I enjoyed hearing live
music and forgetting it's Bob Dylan, which isn't easy but he was that
great.
He played his harmonica at the very end I think to remind the audience
that it is actually him!
