Review by Scram Alexander
Dylan enjoyed the freedom of a touring band that supports him
as a consistently talented and tight dynamo, moving from instrument to
instrument himself with a remarkably energetic multi-layered attack punctuated
by some of the most powerful lyrical tempo, phrasing, and syncopation that I
have seen from him in his entire career. His voice roared like a lion, dug in
like a claw, or purred like a panther as he delivered a gorgeous and elegant set
- including both new and old songs and some improvised lyrics that were as
sardonic, humorous, and visceral as ever. (Thank God for the genius partnership
of Bob Dylan and Tony Garnier who is like a band Colonel working up there
alongside the General.)
