A hot smoky night at the Gorge and Dylan glowed like hot embers in a
campfire. The crowd was definitely full of Bob fans and Billy Strings
certainly helped to draw them to the venue. Billy showed his picking
prowess in an upbeat set to get things started. If you get the chance see
Billy - Go. Mellencamp followed with a rock roaring litany of his American
anthems. Great fun.

As the sun set over the Columbia river Bob and the band in black opened
with a crowd pleaser for the Willie cannabis crowd. With his hair and
score blowing around by the breeze Bob looked like he was really into the
four covers, each in its own Bob way. Little Quennie was a gem. Having
Lucas Nelson join the band was a treat. He fit right in watching Bob
orchestrate the band with Lucas sliding in and out with the deft feel of a
seasoned artist. Lucas really energized the last third of the show (those
songs dragged a bit in both Boise and Spokane)leading to a killer Ballad
of a Thin Man.

This was my 3rd show of the week and clearly the highlight of some very
good shows. My best to the Spokane folks. Beautiful venue and great sound.
